Berkeley Motor Cars was a British automobile manufacturer that operated from 1956 to 1960. Founded by Charles Panter and Lawrie Bond, the company was based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

Berkeley specialized in producing small, lightweight sports cars that were known for their unique fiberglass monocoque construction. This innovative design approach involved creating a single-piece body and chassis molded together, resulting in a rigid yet lightweight structure.

The cars were powered by small motorcycle engines, typically ranging from 322cc to 692cc, which contributed to their nimble handling and fuel efficiency.

Berkeley's most popular models included the SA322, the B65, and the B95, each offering its own distinctive style and performance characteristics.

Despite their compact size, Berkeley sports cars achieved notable success in motorsport, particularly in the 750 Motor Club events where they often outperformed larger, more powerful vehicles.

However, financial difficulties and changing market conditions led to the company's closure in December 1960, after producing approximately 4,100 cars in total.

Today, Berkeley Motor Cars maintain a dedicated following among enthusiasts who appreciate their unique design, lightweight construction, and engaging driving dynamics.
