The 2600 was Alfa Romeo’s six cylinder grand tourer of the sixties, a twin cam engine fed by three twin-choke carburettors, built as a Spider and a Sprint coupe. Information on them is hard to find, and this manual puts the servicing side of both cars in one place.
It gets down to the jobs: tune-up figures, setting the valve timing, the oil-pressure chain tensioner, removing the cylinder head and lifting out the engine and gearbox together, and rebuilding the three Solex carburettors. There’s a full five-speed gearbox overhaul with photographs, brake and electrical servicing, and wiring diagrams for both cars. It isn’t a rebuild book, so there’s no bodywork or interior information and no complete engine overhaul.
